The work focused on interpreting Serrano’s values, rituals, and cultural integrity into a contemporary brand experience that feels intuitive, immersive, and unmistakably authentic, allowing guests to enter the world of Serrano’s without ever feeling designed at.

Serrano’s Cocina y Cantina called for evolution without erasure. With more than three decades of history behind it, the brand didn’t need reinvention—it needed translation. The work focused on interpreting Serrano’s values, rituals, and cultural integrity into a contemporary brand experience that feels intuitive, immersive, and unmistakably authentic, allowing guests to enter the world of Serrano’s without ever feeling designed at.
At Serranos, the concept was shaped around a deeper expression of Mexican hospitality—one defined by warmth, craft, and belonging, rather than the familiar visual shorthand often used to evoke it. Inspired by the understated richness of haciendas and the handmade nature of fresh food, the brand experience was designed to feel grounded, generous, and alive with intention. From visual identity to interior atmosphere, the language of the space pays tribute to process, family, and the kind of welcome that makes guests feel less like customers and more like they have been brought into the fold.

These values guided every creative decision, shaping a system of materials, forms, and moments that communicate meaning quietly. A handcrafted rolling-pin installation became a central narrative element—symbolizing labor, lineage, and care—without relying on overt iconography or cultural shorthand.

Arched forms, layered details, and carefully considered sightlines create a sense of continuity—allowing the space to hold vibrancy without sacrificing comfort.
The result is a space that strengthens Serrano’s identity by staying true to it. Longtime patrons recognize the brand immediately, while new guests experience it as cohesive, welcoming, and grounded. The project establishes a scalable framework for future locations while preserving the emotional and cultural DNA that made Serrano’s beloved in the first place.
